Yoga for Depression & Anxiety

“The Light that yoga sheds on Life is something special. It is transformative. It does not just change the way we see things; it transforms the person who sees. BKS Iyengar

While they both fall under the general description of “depression,” Chronic Depression and Anxiety-Driven Depression manifest differently emotionally, physiologically, and mentally. Chronic depression often shows up as heaviness in the chest, physical sluggishness, and a lethargic mind-state. Anxiety-driven depression may be experienced as constriction in the diaphragm, scattered energy, and an overactive mind.

During the Saturday session of this workshop, we will learn two different asana sequences for these distinct types of depression. On Sunday, we will explore how pranayama and inversions can provide support and over time lead to deeper transformation and a sense of overall well-being. Two years Iyengar yoga experience recommended.

Schedule & Pricing - This workshop is a collaborative offering through Yoga Without Borders. Visit www.iycwm.com or www.ahayoga.com to learn more and register. "Spirituality is not some external goal that one must seek, but a part of the divine core of each of us, which we must reveal. It is the exploration of nature from the world of appearances, or surface, into the subtlest heart of living matter." BKS Iyengar

Registration available through www.ahayoga.com AND www.iycwm.com
